Events

BADA organises several events and excursions unique to the Shakespeare Program throughout the fourteen week semester.

London Guided Tour  At the beginning of the program students will be taken on a coach tour of London.

Theatre Trips  There are weekly visits to the London theatre as part of classwork.  Recent trips have included shows at the National Theatre, the Barbican and the Globe as well as some of London's more cutting-edge venues such as the Bush and the Gate.

Study Trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon  During the week before the mid-term break, students are taken to Stratford-upon-Avon to study at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and see productions at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

During the visit, students attend lectures and receive masterclasses from RSC artists, including Q&A sessions with actors from shows the students see.  There are also voice, theatre history and make-up classes and dramatic criticism discussions specific to the RSC performances.

Access to the Shakespeare Institute and the Shakespeare Archive can be arranged, and students will have the opportunity to explore historic Stratford.

Students are accommodated in Bed and Breakfast hotels near to the Birthplace Trust and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and accompanied throughout the week by a member of BADA's staff.

Other Excursions  Where possible, students are also taken on day trips to Brighton and to the Banqueting Hall in Whitehall, London, in relation to their classwork in Theatre History.
